Eccentric Shaft Thermal Bypass Valve Modification

Submitted On: January 15, 2007, 10:00 pm

We are going to take a look at how to defeat the thermal wax unit on the 86 and later engines. The thermal bypass unit fits into the front of the eccentric shaft. Unfortunately when this unit fails, it will prevent the rotors from being cooled and the motor will overheat. Then the o-rings get so warm, turn brittle, and basically ruin the engine. We are able to fix this however with a simple modification shown in the video.
